I always look forward to confirmation classes because I get to spend time with youth, learn about where they are on their faith journey and try to answer any questions they may have. Confirmation is a blessed experience because for those who were baptized when they were young confirmation seals the covenant with God that was made at the person's baptism. It is a time of saying, "Mom and Dad, thank you for putting me on the path to being a Christian and now I have decided on my own to commit myself to living a Christian life. Continue to help me to grow in faith but the faith in which you have raised me I now claim for myself." For those who have not been baptized they will do so the same day that they are confirmed and that is exciting because youth have decided to follow Jesus and serve as his disciple.
